Kerala Landslide: Odia Doctor Bishnu Chinara’s Body Reaches Home; Friend Swadhin Panda Still Untraceable | Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The body of Odia doctor Bishnu Prasad Chinara, who died in the devastating landslide in Wayanad of Kerala, reached Odisha on Saturday evening.

With the help of the Centre and Kerala government, Odisha Government, the body of Chinara was brought to Bhubaneswar in an ambulance by road from Kerala. Family members and friends paid their last respects soon after the body reached the State Capital.

They lit candles and prayed for the immortal soul to rest in peace. Later, the body was taken to his workplace Hi-tech Medical College, Bhubaneswar before being taken to his native place Choudwar of Cuttack.

Later, Chinara was taken to Puri Swarga Dwara for cremation.

Chinara’s wife Priyadarshini who suffered critical injuries in the disaster is recovering after treatment in Kerala. She will also reach the home State soon.

Another doctor Swadhin Panda is still missing. A rescue operation is underway to trace him out. Similarly, his friend Swikruti Mohapatra, a doctor, is undergoing treatment in a critical condition in Kerala.  A team constituted by Odisha Government has camped there to take stock of the situation.
