Kanwar Yatra 2024: Schools and colleges closed in these districts till August 2

District Magistrate Arvind Mallapa announced that all schools and colleges will remain closed in Muzaffarnagar till August 2 in view of Kanwar Yatra 2024.

New Delhi: Kanwar Yatra, one of the most popular annual pilgrimages celebrated by Lord Shiva devotees, is observed during the month of Shravan. Millions of devotees participate in the Kanwar Yatra by carrying pitchers filled with Ganga Jal while walking barefoot. The Yatra includes multiple routes, with Gaumukh, Haridwar, and Gangotri serving as major starting points. The route from Haridwar to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Rishikesh or the Pura Mahadeva Temple in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, is considered one of the most popular routes.

In view of the Kanwar Yatra 2024, the government is organising camps and medical care for all devotees who carry kanwars. Many districts along the Kanwar Yatra route have decided to suspend educational activities until the end of the Yatra on August 2. All schools and colleges will remain closed in the districts of Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Haridwar, Saharanpur, and Meerut.

Hapur schools closed till August 2

In a recent announcement, Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur administration has decided to close all government and private schools from July 26 to August 2 in view of the Kanwar Yatra 2024. District Magistrate Prerna Sharma has confirmed the news while addressing the media. Sharma also said that the diversions were ordered for heavy vehicles on the route.

Hardiwar schools and Anganwadi centres closed

District Magistrate of Haridwar has declared holidays for educational institutions and Anganwadi centres to avoid the huge rush of devotees during the Kanwar Yatra. All schools and colleges will remain closed till August 2.

Muzaffarnagar schools and colleges closed amid Kanwar Yatra

As per the reports, District Magistrate Arvind Mallapa has declared that all schools and colleges including the private schools will remain closed in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, till August 2.

In view of the Kanwar Yatra, the school schedules have been adjusted in the districts of Varanasi, Indore, and Ujjain to avoid a huge rush during peak days. Schools will remain closed on Monday and work on Sunday.
