Irengbam Pushpa Chanu brings laurels to Manipur by winning gold at 8th International Karata C’ship

Imphal, July 30: Irengbam Pushpa Chanu has brought laurels for Manipur by bagging silver medal at the 8th International Karata Championship Indian Challenger Cup, 2024 held at Kolkata from July 26-28, 2024.

Chanu, an internally displaced person of Urup OBC Girls Hostel Relief Camp, has become an inspiration for other girls in the state.

She hails from Ward No. 9, Moreh and born to Irengbam Doren Meitei and Irengbam Mikhubi. Chanu is currently studying in Class 10 at Urup Higher Secondary School.

Driven by passion of the sport since 2018, she trained relentlessly under guidance of coach Arambam Grayson for the coveted prize.

Her journey serves as a testament to the relentless efforts of individuals pursuing their dreams despite facing setbacks and adverse circumstances, reminding all to persevere and continue to shine in the face of challenges.
