India weather forecast and warning by IMD: Mumbai is likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall on July 25. In Delhi, the sky will remain cloudy. There’s also forecast for light to moderate rain in all districts of Delhi. Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka are on orange alert for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms over the next few days.

New Delhi: Mumbai is likely to witness moderate to heavy rain on July 25, with very heavy showers in some areas. Gusty winds are likely to reach speeds of 60-70 km/hr. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city can expect temperatures around 29°C during the day and 24°C at night. This weather pattern is predicted to continue for the next two days, with occasional gusts reaching 50-60 km/hr.

Meanwhile, the national capital Delhi and its neighbouring cities woke up to light rain on Thursday morning. Earlier, the IMD had forecasted that in Delhi, the sky will remain generally cloudy, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms anticipated across all districts, including North, Northeast, Northwest, West, South, Southeast, Central and East Delhi.

Weather forecast for West and Central India

In West and Central India, IMD has forecast fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next five days. Gujarat is expected to experience exceptionally heavy rainfall on July 25, with over 40 cm in some areas. The state, along with Madhya Maharashtra, is likely to see heavy rain on July 26 and 27. Konkan and Goa will also receive significant rainfall during this period.

The Northwest region, including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, will witness widespread rainfall, with thunderstorms and lightning from July 25 to 28. Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan will also receive rain over the next five days, with varying intensities.

Weather forecast for South and East India

In South India, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain is expected on July 25. Kerala, Mahe, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, and Telangana will experience thunderstorms and lightning. Coastal Karnataka is on alert for very heavy rainfall on July 25, while Telangana, north Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Interior Karnataka should brace for heavy rain on July 26. Kerala and Mahe will continue to receive heavy showers till July 27.

The East and Northeast regions will see widespread light to moderate rain with thunderstorms over the next five days. Odisha is likely to witness very heavy rainfall on July 25 and 26, with further heavy rain expected on the 27 and 28. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim will also experience isolated heavy rainfall during this period.
