Independence Day 2024 Complete Guest List: As the nation gears up to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on August 15, the Centre has curated a special guest list featuring over 4,000 individuals. This year’s celebrations will prominently include representatives from the four groups that Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised as the “four pillars of a developed India” during his Varanasi visit following his re-election for a third term in June.

The special guests for this year’s celebrations include farmers, youth, women, and the poor — groups identified by PM Modi as vital to India’s progress. Each guest has been invited to attend the event at the Red Fort along with one family member. The 4,000 guests have been categorised into 11 groups. Notably, 1,000 individuals are from the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare category, 600 from Youth Affairs, and 300 from Women and Child Development.

The total number of attendees comprises various categories, including 300 each from Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, and 350 from Tribal Affairs. Additionally, there are 200 guests from the School Education and Literacy, Border Roads Organisation/Ministry of Defence, and Health and Family Welfare categories, as well as 150 from the Sports category.

Moreover, there are 1,200 special guests from Niti Aayog, bringing the total attendance to a significant number.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the invitations for the special guests are being issued by the relevant departments through the Ministry of Defence.“…150 elected women representatives, along with their families, are included. There’s a focus on youth, with 400 NSS volunteers under the Meri Maati Mera Desh scheme, 100 beneficiaries of MyBharat scheme, and students of PM Shri schools being on the list,” a source said.

Approximately 150 students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools, 100 tribal artisans and Van Dhan Vikas Yojana members, and 50 tribal entrepreneurs are among those invited. According to sources, all special guests are expected to arrive in Delhi on August 14. During their stay, they will have the opportunity to visit the National War Memorial and meet with several senior ministers.
