A video of a man and woman on a bike being harassed by a group of men in broad daylight in Lucknow has gained widespread attention on social media, drawing criticism.

The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday under the Taj Hotel bridge in Uttar Pradesh’s capital.

In the video, the bike is seen navigating through a waterlogged road, with water rising to knee depth amid heavy rain. The group of men can be seen repeatedly splashing water on the couple, making their passage increasingly difficult.

The brief clip also shows a man inappropriately touching the woman. Several men can be seen pulling the bike from behind, causing the man and woman on bike to fall into the waterlogged road.

As per reports, the police have managed to disperse the crowd and are working to identify those involved in the harassment.

Several other videos circulating on social media from Lucknow also show groups of men harassing and causing trouble for riders and vehicle drivers on the waterlogged roads affected by today’s heavy rains.

Users on ‘X’ have expressed their outrage at the behavior of these troublemakers.

“This nuisance is not a part of Lucknow’s culture…! You can yourself guess how high the spirits of the miscreants are in Yogi Raj by watching the video. The video has gone viral, now maybe Baba’s police will take some action….!,” a user wrote, sharing videos of the incident.

On Wednesday, heavy rainfall also led to flooding in parts of the Vidhan Sabha building, where the Monsoon session of the state assembly is underway. Besides the assembly, several other areas of the state capital experienced waterlogging for nearly two hours due to the intense rain.

Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav slammed the Yogi Adityanath-led government in a post on ‘X’, stating, “The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly needs the budget the most. If this is the condition after a torrential rain, then the rest of the state is at the mercy of God.”
