Car owners are spending enormous sums of money for their fortunate and favourite numbers in Hyderabad’s increasing bidding wars for distinctive vehicle registration numbers. There is fierce rivalry among bidders as these unique numbers gain popularity as status symbols.
Notable amounts were raised during a recent auction held at the Khairatabad office of the Transport Department. Honours Developers placed the highest price of Rs 19,51,111 for the number “TG 09 A 9999.” The new TG09B series was also up for sale; the number ‘0001’ from NG Mind Frame Company brought in Rs 8,25,000.
Other notable sales included:
– ‘0009’ sold to Amaram Akshara reddy for Rs 6,66,666.
– ‘0006’ bought by AMR india for Rs 2,91,166.
– ‘0005’ acquired by Greater Infra Projects for Rs 2,50,149.
– ‘0019’ purchased by Mold Tech for Rs 1,30,000.
The Transport Department received a total of Rs 51,17,517 from the auction, demonstrating the growing demand in hyderabad for unique car registration numbers.
