Air Travel advisory
IndiGo, a major airline, has issued a travel advisory warning of potential delays and disruptions in flight operations due to heavy rains. The affected cities include Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Hirasar, Vadodara, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Diu. Passengers are advised to check their flight status regularly and remain updated on any changes.
Advisory for Residents and Travelers
Given the severe weather conditions and the potential for significant rainfall, residents and travelers in the affected regions are advised to take necessary precautions. Those in flood-prone areas should remain vigilant and consider evacuation if necessary. It is also recommended to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in areas where transportation services are disrupted. Fishermen and small ships operating in the northeast Arabian Sea and along the Gujarat and north Maharashtra coasts should avoid venturing out until the weather system passes.
The authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and updates will be provided as the depression continues its movement across the region.
Movement and Predicted Path
The deep depression is expected to continue its slow movement towards the west-southwest. It is likely to traverse through southern Rajasthan and the Gujarat region over the next few days. By the morning of August 29th, it is predicted to reach the Saurashtra & Kutch regions, as well as adjoining areas of Pakistan and the northeast Arabian Sea. This path indicates that the weather system will impact a wide area, bringing with it substantial rainfall and potentially severe weather conditions.
Rainfall Forecast
The deep depression is anticipated to bring heavy rainfall across several states, with varying intensities depending on the region:
East & West Madhya Pradesh: On August 26th, light to moderate rainfall is expected across most areas. However, some locations are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding and disruptions.

Isolated areas may also experience extremely heavy rainfall, raising concerns about flooding and waterlogging. On August 27th, the region will continue to receive light to moderate rainfall, with isolated locations experiencing heavy to very heavy showers.
Gujarat Region: From August 26th to 27th, the Gujarat region is forecasted to have light to moderate rainfall in most areas. Some locations may see heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated instances of extreme rainfall. The intensity is expected to decrease slightly on August 28th, but isolated heavy rainfall may persist in certain areas.
Saurashtra & Kutch: Light to moderate rainfall is expected from August 26th to 27th, with a few places experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall. Isolated areas could face extremely heavy downpours.
