Gangster Hyder’s Son, Gang Attack Undertrial Prisoner in Jharpada Jail

After the seizure of contraband and mobile phones at Jharapada Jail in Bhubaneswar, dreaded criminal Hyder’s son Muna and his associates allegedly assaulted an Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) for exposing the illegal activities of other inmates to the public.

Sources claim that the injured UTP, Soumyakant Mohanty, had recently alerted the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) about misconduct, including the use of mobile phones by prisoners.

In response to his letter, DLSA officials searched the Jharpada jail, where they discovered narcotics and mobile phones. These items were subsequently turned over to the Laxmi Sagar police.

Reportedly, angered by Mohanty’s revelations, Muna and his group attacked him, causing head injuries. He was promptly taken to Capital Hospital for treatment.
