Every day new revelations and secrets are being exposed in the scandal related to Kolkata’s government RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. In this connection, a former employee of the hospital has made a sensational allegation against the former principal Sandip Ghosh. According to him, Sandip Ghosh was a corpse dealer. He used to deal in unclaimed corpses and was also involved in many other immoral activities.

On August 9, the body of a 31-year-old trainee doctor was found inside the seminar hall of this hospital. She was allegedly raped and then murdered. There were severe injury marks on the body and there were deep wounds on the private parts as well. Kolkata Police arrested a person the next day in connection with this incident. Later, the Calcutta High Court handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI. After this incident, the then principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh resigned from his post.

Sandeep Ghosh will undergo Narco test

The CBI is considering the conduct of Sandeep Ghosh suspicious and has so far conducted marathon interrogation of him in several rounds. During the interrogation in several sessions, the agency had asked him why he made the victim’s parents wait for three hours before handing over the body.

Meanwhile, Akhtar Ali, former deputy superintendent of RG Kar Medical College, told India Today that Sandeep Ghosh has been involved in smuggling of biomedical waste and medical supplies to Bangladesh. Ali also alleged that Sandeep Ghosh used to deal in unclaimed bodies. Akhtar Ali said that Sandeep Ghosh used to sell biomedical waste to people who were part of his additional security. It was later sent to the neighbouring country. However, Hindustan does not confirm Akhtar Ali’s allegations.

Accused of taking 20% commission in every tender

Akhtar Ali also claimed that he had informed the State Vigilance Commission about the alleged illegal activities of Sandeep Ghosh. Ali said that he was part of the investigation panel that found Sandeep Ghosh guilty. However, he was transferred the same day he submitted the investigation report to the state health department. The report quoted Akhtar Ali as saying that Ghosh also demanded bribes for helping students pass the exams. He claimed that Sandeep Ghosh took a 20 percent commission on every tender.

On Tuesday itself, Kolkata Police has also started investigation against Sandeep Ghosh for alleged financial irregularities in the hospital. This police investigation against Sandeep Ghosh has started after a four-member SIT was formed to investigate the alleged financial irregularities in the hospital. Sanjay Roy, accused of raping the trainee doctor, was Sandeep Ghosh’s security guard. It is reported that CBI is now considering conducting a narco test of Sandeep Ghosh because he is changing his statement every time and there are contradictions in his statements.

Former Deputy Superintendent reached High Court

On the other hand, former Deputy Superintendent Akhtar Ali moved the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday, accusing Sandeep Ghosh of financial irregularities during his tenure and requested an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe against Ghosh. Justice Rajarshi Bhardwaj allowed Ali to file the petition. Ali had earlier claimed that he had complained about Ghosh to West Bengal government officials in 2023.
