Tucker Carlson got the Heritage Foundation; Don Lemon got WingStop.
The two high-profile hosts parted ways with their respective cable-news networks Monday and each already has received job offers.
By Tuesday, Mr. Carlson had been publicly solicited by the prestigious conservative think tank and also by Blaze TV and the One America News Network.
Mr. Lemon joined him Tuesday, getting a job offer in the fast food industry after his sudden dismissal from CNN after 17 years there.
Rapper Rick Ross, who reportedly owns around 30 WingStop franchises nationwide took to Instagram to assure Mr. Lemon that “the brothers got your back.”
“We hiring at Wingstop and for some reason I believe you know what you doing with them lemon pepper wings,” Mr. Ross said. “So, man, just send over your resume. 17 years. Damn. But I’mma make sure I get you in front of the right grill, brother.”
Teaming with Mr. Ross does offer possibilities for professional advancement, he said.
The rapper posted another Instagram video, according to a report in the Daily Caller, asking Mr. Lemon to collaborate on a new Rapstar energy-drink flavor.
“Just came up with a wonderful idea — well, really, Don, you helped me come up with this,” Mr. Ross said. “I need to hit the team over at Rapstar Energy Drink and let ’em know we should introduce the Don Lemon flavor. What y’all think? Aye, Don, we got you brother!”
