FE Emerging Business Growth Workshops: Hyderabad edition to spotlight digital technologies for MSMEs – SME News

29

With nearly 10 lakh Udyam-registered units, MSMEs in India’s youngest state Telangana play an important role in job creation, exports and overall economic growth, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. In Telangana, Hyderabad has the highest concentration of MSMEs with close to 1.8 lakh registered enterprises.

The state has information technology as its most rapidly developing sector while Hyderabad, being the main focal point of technology services, stands out as a major export hub for India’s software industry. This, coupled with the state’s rise as one of India’s top-tier destinations for global enterprises, is expected to fast track growth of its emerging enterprises including MSMEs with technology as a key enabler.

In line with this idea, the FE Emerging Business Growth Workshops – a multi-city initiative by FE Aspire – is next coming to Hyderabad on July 31 (Wednesday) at hotel Hyatt Place, Banjara Hills

MSMEs hail credit scheme in Budget, fret over 40-day payment rule

Presented by Dell Technologies and Intel along with Digital Transformation Partner Vi Business and Associate Partner SIDBI, the half-day workshop beginning at 02:00 pm will focus on information, insight and inspiration for MSMEs on why digital transformation is no more a choice but the biggest necessity for a business to grow.

The workshop will begin with a Guest of Honour address by Telangana’s Industries and Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT) Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan.

In his address “Future-Ready Telangana MSMEs: Navigating Digital Change”, Ranjan will highlight the technology landscape in the state for MSMEs along with opportunities available for enterprises to leverage, riding the digital wave. The address will also underscore the measures undertaken by the state government to promote digital technology adoption among MSMEs.

Next would be a keynote address by Samriddhi Bhattacharyya, Director, Small Business, Dell India on “The Tech Advantage: Tools and Trends for MSMEs.”

As a number of MSMEs find it difficult to adopt a digital-first strategy in business amid multiple challenges around infrastructure, capital, security, customised solutions, and more, the keynote will throw light on the latest tools and trends in technology that can help MSMEs navigate through the challenges towards digital adoption.

The keynote would be followed by a panel discussion on the need to democratise access to formal credit for MSMEs. The discussion will focus on the current challenges faced by MSMEs in Telangana in accessing working capital credit from financial institutions along with the impact of existing initiatives by the government to solve the credit issue and additional measures required both on the government and enterprise side.

The speakers for the panel would include Vemuru Chandramouli, General Manager, SIDBI; K Rama Devi, President, Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India; Narender Vunyale, Associate Professor, SVKM’s NMIMS, Hyderabad; R. Ravi Kumar, Sr. Vice President, Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry; and S Glory Swarupa, Director General, National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Hyderabad.

The workshop will also have a masterclass on cybersecurity for MSMEs by Kalidas TC, Services Specialist, Cyber Security, Dell Technologies.

Titled “Building Cyber Vigilance: Protecting MSMEs from Evolving Threats,” the masterclass will be an opportunity for the MSME audience to understand how vulnerable small businesses can be to cyberattacks and the risk involved to their data, IPs, their reputation and eventually customer base and sales.

The masterclass will explain ways and tools available for MSMEs to secure their businesses online.

Following the masterclass would be a standalone session by Rajeshkumar Sitaraman, VP-Cluster Enterprise Head, South, Vi Business.

The session would guide MSMEs on how they can accelerate their digital transformation journey through tailored solutions around, for instance, connectivity, IoT, communication, cloud and more to address challenges related to digital adoption.

Akin to its previous editions of Bhopal, Surat and Jaipur, the workshop will continue with its initiative of felicitating leading MSMEs in the region. The show will conclude with a felicitation ceremony recognising MSMEs in Hyderabad for their growth and contribution to the MSME sector.
