‘Drugs available in most parts of Kochi unlike other cities’, reveals popular model Alka Boney
Alka, who was recently arrested in a drug case while speaking to News9 and earlier with other media houses stated that she was been trapped in the drug case and she had no direct or indirect links with any groups or individuals who carry the banned substance.

Kochi : Popular model Alka Boney has made a startling and sensational revelations where she has revealed that the sale of drugs is widespread in Kochi and that drugs are more easily available in the city when compared to Mumbai and Bengaluru. Alka, who was recently arrested in a drug case while speaking to News9 and earlier with other media houses stated that she was been trapped in the drug case and she had no direct or indirect links with any groups or individuals who carry the banned substance.
According to Alka, drugs are sold openly during the night in places such as Marine Drive and Kaloor Stadium and other parts of Kochi.

“When you go to these places, some people with drugs in their pockets will approach you asking if you want it These people sell drugs when the police are not around”, she said.
“I used to go to parties in other states like Bangalore as part of my modelling work. But here in Cochin, I find the usage of such drugs more common than anywhere else. There is a misconception among the public that people in the modelling and cinema industry are more into such substances. This is a false perception. Models and actors who are more concerned about their looks and health will never use it as they know about its consequences. Most of these substances are coming from neighbouring states”, she said.
“Not everyone in the modelling industry use drugs. Only few use it. I used to use in small quantities. But was never involved in selling or possessing it. If you go to cities like Bangalore and Goa, there are few designated places and people who use it. But here in Cochin, these drugs are available in open in many places. Marine drive and Kaloor stadium are the places where it is widely found”, she said.
‘I am not part of any drug mafia’
Alka along with eight other friends were arrested during while her birthday celebrations were underway at an apartment in Elamakkara in Cochin on May 18th.
“While my birthday celebration was on, a few officials in their civil dress barged into the room and started questioning me and my friends. Then they checked a bag of a friend of mine and found Cocaine in very small amount. However, the bag’s owner had gone out for a purchase. I was taken to the police station and was questioned for a long time. I told them I am not part of any drug mafia. However, I was in jail for two weeks and was later released on bail”, she said.
