New Delhi: A  collision between a double-decker bus and a car on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway early Sunday morning has claimed the lives of seven people.

The accident occurred around 12:30 AM, when a double-decker bus, travelling from Raebareli to Delhi carrying 60 passengers, collided with a car on the expressway, according to the news agency ANI.

The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the deaths of four passengers on the bus and three people travelling in the car. A total of 25-30 passengers on the bus were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital. The injured passengers were rushed to the medical facility immediately after the accident.

Etawah Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma confirmed the details, stating that the injured passengers are being cared for at a hospital and the investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

Verma said that the bus was going from Raebareli to Delhi and collided with a car at around 12:30 am.”There were 60 people on the bus, out of which 4 people died and about 20-25 people were injured, who have been admitted to the hospital. 3 people who were there in the car also died. A total of 7 people have died,” he said.
