New Delhi: DION Electric Vehicles, a dynamic brand under Powertrans Mobility Ltd, has expanded its portfolio with the launch of two cutting-edge e-scooter models—Augusta SP and Asta FH. The launch coincided with the inauguration of a new showroom in Ramapuram, Chennai, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s growth strategy.
The grand event was graced by prominent figures including Thiru. T. M. Anbarasan, Minister of MSME and Tamil Nadu Urban Habitation Development Board, and Thiru. Mano Thangaraj, Minister of Milk & Dairy Development, who inaugurated the two new e-scooter models and the showroom respectively. The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Chevalier Dr. V. G. Santhosam, Chairman of VGP Group of Companies, and other notable guests.
Augusta SP
The Augusta SP e-scooter stands out with its high-performance 7.5 KW PMSM hub motor, capable of reaching top speeds of 120 kmph. Designed with both safety and comfort in mind, it features advanced braking systems, front telescopic suspension, and rear spring load hydraulic suspension. The scooter is powered by a 4.3 KW lithium-ion traction battery, offering a range of up to 110 kilometres on a single charge, making it a reliable option for urban commuters.
Asta FH
On the other hand, the Asta FH e-scooter, designed for peak performance, shares several advanced features with Augusta SP, including anti-theft locks and efficient LED lighting for enhanced visibility. Both models are equipped with a 1Kva charger that enables a full charge in just 4-5 hours, ensuring convenience for daily use.
Augusta SP and Asta FH: Price
The new e-scooters are priced competitively, with Augusta SP available at an on-road price of ₹1,79,750 and Asta FH at ₹1,29,999. To celebrate the launch, DION Electric Vehicles is offering a special inaugural discount of up to ₹22,000, valid until 23rd September.
DION’s expansion in Chennai, with three showrooms and five service centres, is a testament to its commitment to the Indian electric vehicle market. The company has also partnered with a service provider to offer vehicle servicing at 256 stations across Tamil Nadu, further enhancing customer support.
Speaking at the event, Mr. S. M. Antony Thomas, CEO of Powertrans Mobility, expressed his excitement about the new launches and the brand’s ongoing expansion efforts. He highlighted DION’s dedication to innovation and its ambition to establish a strong pan-India presence in the electric vehicle sector.
