New Delhi: The Sarai Kale Khan station of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) network, is set to feature an exterior in peacock blue and beige. The station’s curved facade will use a blue monochrome colour and polycarbonate sheets to enhance light reflection, confirmed the officials from the National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

Aligning with the theme of other RRTS stations, the newly decided colour and design are inspired by the vibrant shades of feathers of peacock, the national bird of India. The Delhi section of the RRTS is likely to get completed by mid-2025. Structural work on the Sarai Kale Khan station is nearly done, following the completion of the entire viaduct for the Delhi segment in June.

“The colours are meant to reflect the sky and water, with blue being an abstract and versatile choice in architecture. This design helps make the varying widths of the RRTS corridor stations look uniform and cohesive,” said an NCRTC official.
