The construction of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor is on track to revolutionise travel in the national capital and nearby regions, potentially cutting the journey between Delhi and Meerut to under an hour. According to the officials, the ambitious project has completed 80 of its total 82 kilometers, with only a short two-kilometer stretch in Meerut left for the viaduct construction. This milestone includes 68 kilometers of the elevated section and 12 kilometers of the underground section.

“The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor has constructed 80 km section out of the total 82 km. This includes 68 km of the 70 km elevated section and 12 km of the underground section. Presently, only a two km section in Meerut remains for viaduct construction, which is being rapidly completed. The construction of stations is also progressing swiftly,” they said.

The corridor, which currently features Namo Bharat trains operating on the initial 34 kilometers from Sahibabad to Modi Nagar North, is progressing rapidly, with regular updates from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on the construction status of each station.
