The new management of Cupid Breweries and Distilleries Limited has visited and approached the Government of Sikkim with a request for the allotment of land, along with the necessary licenses and permissions, to set up a manufacturing facility for Beer – Brewery, IMFL, and Malt Spirit.
The Company has received an email dated 02.08.2024, showing the expression of interest from the Director of MSME, Commerce & Industries, Government of Sikkim. The Government has principally agreed to allot suitable land, once identified, for this project. The proposed factory setup will require significant capital expenditure and is expected to provide direct employment to approximately 100 individuals, with indirect employment opportunities for many more, thus contributing substantially to the state’s revenue through taxes.
The land acquisition and identification process will be subject to various approvals, including an industrial license from the Commerce & Industries Department, a license for brewery setup from the Excise Department, and statutory clearances from the Sikkim Pollution Control Board.
