Crafts Council hosts lecture to celebrate Nat’l Handloom Day

The Crafts Council of Gujarat (CCG) in collaboration with the School of Design, Centre for Professional Courses at Gujarat University, marked National Handloom Day by hosting a lecture session delivered by textile researcher, author and curator Savitha Suri. The event also saw CCG felicitate artisans Valjibhai Vashramji (Bhuj), Heerabhai Sadia (Porbandar), Govindkaka (Chota Udepur) and Rajanbhai Vankar (Chota Udepur) for their efforts towards preserving the handloom heritage of the state. The event was attended by members of CCG, outsiders and design students from various universities.
