Consulting firms scoop up 35% of IIM Ahmedabad’s MBA (PGPX) Class of 2024

Management and technology consulting firms emerged as the largest recruiters during final placements of IIM Ahmedabad’s one-year MBA (PGPX) batch, hiring 35% of the students, the institute’s final audited placement report, aligned with the ‘Indian Placement Reporting Standards’ (IPRS) has revealed.

Information Technology (IT) Services, BFSI and Healthcare sectors followed close by hiring 18%, 11% and 10% of the students, respectively.

This year’s PGPX placement season saw around 105 companies from diverse sectors – both returning and new recruiters – offering a wide range of roles to about 121 students. A total of 67 new organisations participated in the placements process for the first time.

Firms that recruited included Accenture, Adani Group, Amazon, Aptiv, Open Financial Technologies, Blue Ridge, Cognizant, Datawrkz, DevRev, Eli Lilly, ExxonMobil, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, HDFC Credila, IIMA Endowment Fund, iio Financial Services, KPMG, Lumiq, McKinsey, Merilytics, Next Bharat Ventures, Persistent Systems, RPG Group, Rx Consultants, Shell, Star Health, Sun Pharma, Takshashila Consulting, Tata Power, Tiger Analytics, TVS, Wells Fargo, Xynteo, and Zomato.

Accenture, Persistent Systems, Adani Group, RPC Group, and Eli Lilly were the firms that made the highest number of offers.

Professor Viswanath Pingali, Chairperson of the Placement Committee said in a statement: “The interest from several new recruiters this year suggests the growing popularity of the programme amongst the recruiters.”Indian and international recruiters hired for leadership roles as well as middle and senior management roles. Apart from large corporates, startups – both unicorns and soon-to-be-unicorns – too recruited students this year.Out of 147 students eligible for placements, 21 students opted out of the placement process.
