Applications have been invited for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024, a prerequisite for admission to various Post Graduate and Fellow/Doctorate programmes of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

CAT 2024 scores are allowed to be used by listed non-IIM member institutions. A list of such institutions is provided on the CAT website. However, IIMs have no role in the selection process of non-IIM institutions.

Eligibility: Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or should have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA (CMA)/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) or possess a recognised equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% for SC, ST and PwD categories]. Those appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally subject to the conditions specified at

CAT 2024 will be conducted as a computer-based test on November 24, 2024 in three sessions at Test Centres spread across around 170 test cities. Candidates will be given the option to select any five test cities in order of their preference. The list of cities may be subject to changes based on the discretion of the CAT authorities.

CAT 2024 will have three sections: Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Section III: Quantitative Ability. There will be Multiple Choice Questions and non-MCQ type questions. All questions carry equal marks. There are no negative marks for non-MCQ type questions.

CAT 2024 registration can be done at by 5 p.m. on September 13, 2024.

Registration Fees is Rs.1250/- for SC, ST and PwD category candidates and Rs. 2500/- for all other categories of candidates. An applicant needs to pay the registration fees only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for. Candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a mobile phone number throughout the selection process.

Admit cards can be downloaded during November 05 to November 24, 2024.

Result is expected to be declared in the second week of January, 2025 (Tentative).
