The young man, who was elated to start a new job abroad, found himself in legal trouble after his Kyrgyzstan visa was discovered to be fraudulent.
Dhananjay Kumar, a 26-year-old resident of Kanjanpur village in Bihar’s Golapganj, experienced a dramatic turn of events at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on July 30. The young man, who was elated to start a new job abroad, found himself in legal trouble after his Kyrgyzstan visa was discovered to be fraudulent.
Dhananjay had received an employment offer in Kyrgyzstan and had planned his journey to reach his dream city via the UAE. Armed with his air ticket and a visa, he arrived at Delhi airport, where he was accompanied by relatives who came to bid him farewell.
Upon completing his check-in at Terminal 3, Dhananjay proceeded to the Bureau of Immigration counter for a routine check of his travel documents. It was here that officials uncovered the forgery – Dhananjay’s Kyrgyzstan visa was identified as fake. This revelation shocked him and led to his immediate detention by Bureau of Immigration officers.
Following preliminary interrogation, Dhananjay was transferred to the custody of IGI Airport Police. The police have filed charges against him under Section 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), and 61 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as the Passport Act. During questioning, Dhananjay disclosed that he had procured the fake visa through an agent named Rehmat for Rs 2 lakh. He had been introduced to Rehmat by an individual named Munna Singh.
In response to the incident, a special team led by Inspector Sumit was formed to locate and apprehend Munna Singh and Rehmat. Rehmatullah Asari, the accused agent, was soon arrested by Bihar Police in Gopalganj. IGI Airport DCP Usha Rangnani is overseeing the ongoing investigation into the case.
