Both women reportedly left their husbands, children, and families behind to marry each other.

The two, identified as Komal Kumari and Soni Kumari, got in touch through a wrong number seven years ago and that is when their relationship began.

In a developing story from Bihar’s Jamui district, two women were forcefully returned to their families after they eloped to marry each other, following a relationship that began on the pretext of a wrong number. Over the past seven years, the women, both married with children of their own, developed a romantic relationship that led them to make significant life changes. Both women reportedly left their husbands, children, and families behind to marry each other, with one of the women identifying as a husband and the other as a wife in their new relationship dynamic.

The two, identified as Komal Kumari and Soni Kumari, got in touch through a wrong number seven years ago and that is when their relationship began. Over time, their conversations deepened into a romantic relationship, culminating in a commitment to each other. Soni, who resides in Chhapra district, was married in 2020 to a man from Patna and has a son. On the other hand, Komal, from Lakkhapur village in the Nagar police station area of Jamui district, was married at the same time and has two children.

In 2023, Komal and Soni decided to marry each other without informing their families, who discovered the union later. In their relationship, Soni identifies as the husband, while Komal takes on the role of the wife. When Komal’s family learned of their relationship, they instructed her to distance herself from Soni. Unable to meet Soni, Komal discussed relocating to another city for work with her family, but they refused to support her decision.

Recently, Komal contacted Soni, and the two planned to elope. Komal’s family became aware of their plans and reported the situation to the police. Despite their declarations of a deep, inseparable bond, both women were returned to their families by the Mahila Police Station. Station in-charge Preeti Kumari confirmed that Komal and Soni have since been reunited with their respective families.
