Two candidates from Patna were arrested for using Bluetooth devices to cheat during the Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Examination on Wednesday, August 7. The suspects, identified as Ravi Shankar Sharma and Vicky Kumar from Dulhin Bazar area of Patna district, were apprehended at the Town Plus Two School Examination Centre in Arrah. The Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) was conducting the examination when Sharma and Kumar were caught with Bluetooth devices embedded in their slippers. The Bluetooth was connected to earpieces, allowing them to receive answers discreetly. The discovery stunned police officers and the examination centre superintendent.

Following their arrest, Sharma, a resident of Sadawah Dorwa village and Kumar from Pirhi village, were taken to the Town Police Station. Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Yadav confirmed that the candidates were caught during routine checks while attempting to use the devices to receive answers. An FIR has been filed against two candidates at the Town Police Station following a complaint from the examination centre superintendent. The Bluetooth devices and earpieces were also confiscated.

The Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Examination was conducted at 18 centers in Arrah under the Bihar Selection Board’s oversight. The exam was carried out smoothly and without incidents of malpractice, thanks to the implementation of the Chakravarti system.

District Magistrate Raj Kumar and Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Yadav actively monitored the examination process, with approximately 48 magistrates and 35 static officers deployed. Candidates were allowed entry starting at 9:30 am, and the exam took place from 12 noon to 2 pm. SP Yadav reported no disturbances or complaints throughout the examination period.

The successful identification of the cheating attempt highlights the vigilance of the authorities. In a press release, SP Pramod Kumar praised the police for their alertness, which led to the arrest of the fraudulent candidates on the first day of the examination.

Previously, similar incidents of cheating attempts involving micro earpieces and Bluetooth devices had been detected in various exams.
