A man was caught on camera throwing stones at an express train passing the Darbhanga and Kakarghati stretch in Bihar. The Railways have said that the man was arrested after the photograph and videos of the incident went viral. They have appealed to passengers to report any stone-pelting incident or anti-social behaviour immediately.

Patna: In a disturbing incident reported from Bihar, a man threw stones at a moving train. The stone hit a passenger travelling inside the train and left him badly injured. The incident was recorded on camera, by a co-traveller and shared on social media platform, ‘X’.

Perpetrator arrested, Railways takes note of incident

The post on ‘X’ not only shared the incident but also shared pictures of the person involved in the entire act. Talking about the incident, the ‘X’ user who goes by the name, Supaul Voice said, “The Bhagalpur-Jaynagar intercity Express was pelted with stones between Darbhanga and Kakarghati. The DRM Samastipur took cognizance of the matter and arrested the perpetrator.”

The person who had shared this post then went on to appeal to the Railways to take the strictest possible action against the culprit, so that such an incident does not happen again. Several users reacted to the post, asking for strict action against the perpetrator. One of the users demanded the arrest of the man. The photograph of the injured passenger was also shared by the X user. Blood was visible on his nose.

The Indian Railways took note of the incident. They informed people that the accused has been identified and has been booked under all relevant sections of the law. Taking to the official ‘X’ handle they wrote, “Taking immediate action on the incident of stone pelting by anti-social elements, we have identified the accused and registered a case under various sections.”

The Railway Ministry has appealed to the public to report any stone-pelting incident to them immediately. They have also asked people to report any anti-social activities they encounter during travel in the trains.
