Big B’s granddaughter Navya Nanda joins IIM Ahmedabad, netizens question her admission process
Navya Naveli Nanda proved that she’s not a regular star kid, who will only seek glamour and a starry life.
Navya, who is the granddaughter of legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has joined the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. She has enrolled in the BPGP MBA program.
On Sunday (Sep 1), Nanda shared several photos taken on the campus of the esteemed institution.
Sharing the photos, she wrote, “Dreams do come true !!!!!! Home for the next 2 years… with the best people & faculty! BPGP MBA Class of 2026 (sic).”
Later, Navya expressed her gratitude to her teachers and institute that helped her crack the CAT/IAT entrance exams.
Sharing a photo of her cutting cake at her coaching institute, Navya mentioned Prasad sir, who has helped her in the preparation for the exam.
Navya’s post has garnered mixed reactions from the netizens. Many have praised her achievement, but some were quick to question her admission process and the course she’s pursuing.
One user commented, ”Just a curious question. Did you write CAT to get into this program?”
Another commented, ”One who clears with 98% percentile score did not get admission in IIM but you have money 😂 institute always waits for you???😂😂So money is more important than talent.”
For the unversed, Navya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Technology and UX Design from USA’s Fordham University. Apart from handling her family business currently, she has carved her path by launching several non-profit initiatives that work on girl’s education, healthcare, and women’s rights among other things. She has also co-founded Aara Health, a health-tech platform that addresses the stigmas around women’s health issues like menstruation. She also hosts a podcast What The Hell Navya? with her grandmother and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan and mom Shweta Bachchan.
Nanda is following her father’s footsteps and it seems like she’s not going to make her debut in Bollywood anytime soon. During an event, Shweta clarified that Navya is not interested in pursuing a career in acting.
When asked about her daughter’s debut, Shweta responded, “I think you’re well aware of the work Navya does, and she’s already got her hands full. I don’t think Bollywood is the path for her.”
Navya is the daughter of Shweta Bachchan and businessman Nikhil Nanda. Her brother Agastya Nanda has already made his debut in Bollywood with Zoya Akhtar’s movie Archies.
