Bangalore: Zerodha co-founder took to Instagram to post a picture of him intending to show his reaction to the Union Budget 2024. However, the photo quickly went viral for completely different reasons.

Nikhil posted a photo of himself wearing a grey sleeveless tee. The post was simply captioned, “Budget day”.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the first Union Budget 2024 of Modi 3.0 government on Tuesday.

However, netizens’ focus was shifted from Budget to Nikhil’s muscular arms.

The post has gone viral, garnering more than 70,000 likes. Netizens to took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the picture.

Budget 2024

Nirmala Sitharaman made history by becoming the first finance minister to present seven consecutive budget speeches, breaking the previous record of six consecutive budgets set by former Prime Minister Morarji Desai as finance minister from 1959 to 1964.

In the budget, Nirmala Sitharaman announced a 50% increase in the standard deduction for salaried employees, raising it from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 under the new income tax regime.

Notably, no change has been announced regarding the standard deduction in the old tax regime. Sitharaman also announced relaxation in the income tax slabs under the new tax regiment for the current fiscal year.
