Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have apprehended a gang of three women involved in pickpocketing and looting passengers traveling in ‘Mo Bus’, on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Chhaya Patra, Lata Sendre, and Ujjal Patri from Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

According to sources, police officials have seized Rs 23,000 and other valuables from the possession of the three women from the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh.

The female looter gang was caught after police officials launched a frantic search following a complaint reported by a passenger, Ashrita Maharana, at Nayapalli Police Station on Saturday.

As per reports, Maharana was robbed of Rs 25,000 when he was getting off the Mo Bus by a group of women who surrounded him and swiftly took away the money in the crowd.

After learning about the incident, Maharana lodged a complaint at Nayapalli P.S.

During the investigation, the women admitted to their crime in front of the police officials.

Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
