Attention Bengaluru: Police Implements New Timing Restrictions For Heavy Goods Vehicles; Check Traffic Advisory

Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: In order to ensure smoother traffic in the city, Bengaluru Traffic Police has implemented new restrictions on the movement of heavy goods vehicles. As per the advisory issued on August 2, heavy goods vehicles will be restricted from moving through the city on all days of the week during specific hours.

Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Timings

The rules of the road are changing for heavy goods vehicles – they’re being barred from hitting the road from 7:00 in the morning till 11:00 AM, and then again from 4:00 in the evening till 10:00 at night on weekdays. And, starting this Saturday, weekends aren’t void of these restrictions either. Trucks carrying a hefty load will have to stay off the roads from 10:00 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon, and 4:30 PM up until 9:00 at night.

Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: The Decision

The city’s Police Commissioner has decided to take steps towards improving the city’s traffic situation. For all you drivers out there, it’s a good idea to plan your travel ahead of time to avoid any hassles during the predetermined traffic regulation hours.

Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Namma Metro

Get ready, Bengaluru! The much-awaited expansion of Namma Metro, extending from Nagasandra to Madavara (BIEC) along the bustling Tumakuru Road, is all set to start welcoming passengers from October onwards. The head honcho of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) shared the exciting news that preliminary testing on this new 3-kilometre route would be kicking off soon.

Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: New Stations

Amidst the Phase II development of our beloved Namma Metro, they’re prepping up to introduce three new stations – Manjunathnagar, Chikkabidarakallu, and Madavara to their network. The newest line is almost ready to commence services, eagerly waiting for a safety nod from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS). All eyes are on September, when this seal of approval is expected.
An official of BMRCL said that the trains currently halt at Nagasandra, with changes to the service frequency being contingent upon demand. It’s expected that the extension will draw an additional daily commuter volume of around 25,000 to 30,000.
