Arunachal Pradesh Launches Free EMT Training Program To Boost Emergency Medical Services

Itanagar, Aug 1: In a significant move to enhance 108 free emergency medical services across the region, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh National Health Mission (NHM), in collaboration with EMRI Green Health Services has launched a comprehensive free Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program at Itanagar. This initiative, aims to bolster the capabilities of Emergency Medical healthcare workers and improve emergency response times in the state.

The training program, ended on July 31, 2024, completing training of 60 individuals from across the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The certification ceremony, held at state capital’s Hotel Obsidian Blue, conference hall, was attended by Dr. Bombei Tayeng Nodal Officer Ambulance NHM, Dr. Kemba Padu senior official of TRIHMS Hospital, and representatives from EMRI Green Health Services.

In her address, the Nodal Officer emphasized the critical role of well-trained EMTs in saving lives and ensuring timely medical interventions during emergencies. She highlighted the roles of EMTs to be of someone who is trained to save lives irrespective of their own pain, also that the collaboration with EMRI Green Health Services and NHM is a strategic effort to enhance the healthcare infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh, especially in remote and underserved areas.

“Providing quality medical training to our EMTs is a step towards strengthening our emergency response system,” Dr. Padu said. “This initiative will not only equip our personnel with essential skills but also ensure that our communities receive prompt and efficient medical care in times of need irrespective. He also added that at any point in time the EMTs are welcome to TRIHMS for any learning sessions and congratulated the trainees on successful completion of the training program and wished them all the luck for the future.”

EMRI Green health Services representative, 108 State Head Adv. Khoda Tabin also gave his views about this training program as one of the initiatives to train and equip people with nursing background to save lives in and around the communities and asked the trainees to make people aware of the 108 free emergency ambulance services available to each and every one irrespective of their background across the state.

The free EMT training program is designed to offer participants in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in emergency medical procedures, including advanced life support, trauma care, and patient assessment. The curriculum delivered by experienced instructors and medical professionals from EMRI GHS Head Office, Hyderabad who are certified by Stanford University of Medicine, USA, included practical simulations to ensure real-world preparedness.

Participants in the program received certification upon completion, which will not only boost their professional credentials but also contribute to a more robust emergency response framework in the state. The initiative is expected to create a ripple effect, inspiring more individuals to join the healthcare field and contribute to the well-being of their communities.
