Arunachal: 27 houses gutted by fire at Pareng village in Siang
Dibrugarh, Aug 1: Altogether, 27 houses were totally gutted during a massive fire incident which took place at Pareng village in Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday night.
Locals said six elderly persons also sustained minor injuries during the incident.
An electrical short circuit is suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
Properties worth crores of rupees were completely destroyed as the villagers were left in the lurch due to non availability of fire engines in the district.

When a fire engine arrived from Aalo in neighbouring West Siang district, the damage was done.
Meanwhile, local MLA and minister Ojing Tasing has instructed officials to provide relief to the affected people.
