Ghaspani, August 19 (MExN): As part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing commitment to securing a better future for the nation’s youth, Subedar PB Chhetri, Kirti Chakra Centre of Excellence, Ghaspani, Nagaland project has been established to create a brighter future for the youth in the North East. This full-time residential programme will mentor and guide students over a twelve-month period to prepare them for various competitive entrance exams, including those for Engineering and Medical fields, as well as other allied streams, PRO, HQ IGAR (North) stated in a press release.
The programme, under the direction of the Director General Assam Rifles, will be implemented by the National Integrity & Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), an educational NGO. The Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) will oversee the project’s overall operations, with funding support provided by Axis Bank. The project is being executed in Ghaspani, Nagaland.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed under the aegis of the DGAR on August 19, at Ghaspani. The MoU was signed in the presence of Major General Manish Kumar, SM**, IGAR (N), Abhejit Agarwal, Head of Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility at Axis Bank, Dr Rohit Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer of NIEDO, Dr Vivek Talwar from Corporate Social Responsibility at NIEDO and children, parents, and other distinguished guests.
The press release stated that this initiative will not only mentor and guide the students in their future careers but also provide value-based education in areas such as Soft Skill Training, Personality Development, Critical Life Competencies, Leadership Capabilities, Personal Conditioning, Wellness Programs, and Vocational Training, ensuring they become productive human resources for the nation.
In his speech, the chief guest, Maj Gen Manish Kumar emphasised Assam Rifles’ efforts to empower the youth of the North East by providing them with value-based education and soft skills, leading to increased success and employment opportunities for underserved sections of the nation. This sustained effort will not only benefit talented underprivileged students but also equip them with better employment prospects, thereby transforming society and instilling hope in the youth of the North East.
