APFA organises FIFA women’s football campaign
BALIJAN, 29 Aug: A FIFA women’s football campaign was organised by the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA), in collaboration with VKV Balijan, on the occasion of the National Sports Day at the school ground here on Thursday.
Around 150 students took part in small-sided games along with fun games.
The campaign is an initiative of the FIFA to encourage football among young girls and promote women’s football across the world.
Supported by the All India Football Federation(AIFF), the APFA was one among others selected to organise the campaign.
The event was attended by AIFF treasurer Kipa Ajay, VKV Balijan Principal Shyamal Chakraborty, executive committee members of the APFA, and others.
State ambassador for the campaign, Techi Amin, the first female footballer from the state to represent the national football team in international level, encouraged young girls to take up sports while keeping up with their studies, and to remain dedicated to their career goals.
