Hyderabad: Continuous rains over the past two days have caused Hyderabad’s iconic Hussain Sagar lake to surpass its full tank level (FTL). As of Saturday morning, the lake’s water level reached 513.53 meters, slightly above its FTL of 513.41 meters. To manage the rising waters, officials raised the sluice gates by 2 feet, allowing excess water to flow through 12 vents. The downpour has led to substantial inflows into the lake via stormwater drains, increasing the inflow to 2,075 cusecs, while the outflow stood at 1,538 cusecs. Hyderabad recorded rainfall across various parts of the city on Saturday, with Himayatnagar seeing the highest accumulation at 5.8 mm. Meanwhile, the Siddipet District topped state records with 82 mm of rainfall.
