The entire nation is in an uproar after the horrifying news of the rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital surfaced online. Even people from B-town have condemned the heinous act. In a recent update, Alia Bhatt has also expressed her outrage over the incident. The actress took to her Instagram and shared a series of posts condemning the brutal crime and highlighting concerns about women’s safety in the country.

Alia’s Instagram post starts with a chilling spotlight on the relentless violence faced by women in India. The actress wrote, “Another brutal rape. Another day of realisation that women are not safe, anywhere.” Alia’s post also referenced the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2022 report, where she highlighted the alarming statistics of violence against women in India, particularly targeting those in the medical profession.

Despite a strong outcry and legal reforms, Alia’s post clearly states that only a little has changed regarding women’s safety in the country. With a shocking 90 rapes reported daily in 2022, Alia emphasised the crisis of sexual violence plaguing the nation. She also mentioned how women in the country are working under a constant concern of such enormities.

Concluding her post, Alia urged the creation of safe spaces for women in India and called for increased protection measures. Her message concluded with a call to action: “Don’t tell women to change their path—change the terrain. Every woman deserves better.”

Coming to Alia’s work front, the actress is gearing up for her upcoming release, Jigra. Bhatt will also feature in Alpha, where she will share the screen space with Sharvari Wagh.
