Air India Express launches direct flights to Dhaka from Chennai and Kolkata
Air India Express on Wednesday announced that it will be expanding its operations to Dhaka, starting from September 3, 2024. The Tata-owned Air India subsidiary airlines will be operating six weekly flights each connecting Dhaka to Kolkata and Chennai, the company said in a press release.The flights will be operating from Sunday to Tuesday with no-layovers in between. Flights from Kolkata to Dhaka have been priced at Rs 3443, Dhaka to Kolkata at Rs Rs 4609, Chennai to Dhaka at Rs 4796, and Dhaka to Chennai at Rs 7223.
Tickets for the flights can be booked on the airline’s website, airindiaexpress.com, its mobile app, and other major booking channels.
Commenting on the launch, Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, said, “The services will also provide connections to Air India Express flights to the Gulf region, as also to Air India long-haul international flights.”
According to the press release, the connectivity will benefit flyers travelling to Dhaka from Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kochi, Imphal, Jaipur, Surat, and Varanasi through the Kolkata and Chennai routes.
Last week, Air India Express announced that it has expanded its network to Tripura, marking its 46th domestic destination. It will introduce daily direct flights connecting Agartala to Guwahati, Delhi and Kolkata from September 1, said the airline in another press release.
