Vigorous monsoon activity brought widespread heavy rainfall in the state on Saturday with North Goa receiving 71.6 mm of downpour and South Goa recording precipitation at 79.9 mm.
IMD has forecast very heavy to heavy rainfall for Sunday, accompanied by winds gusting up to 50 kmph. Similar conditions are also expected on Monday. For August 27-28, heavy rainfall is anticipated at isolated places, says the IMD.
The public in general is advised to exercise caution due to potential impacts such as reduced visibility, traffic congestion, flooding, and waterlogging, especially in low-lying areas, and landslides or mudslides in vulnerable areas.
The meteorological department has also issued warnings to fishermen advising them not to venture into the sea due to squally weather conditions.
