Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident occurred in Banjhipali village under Agalpur police limits, where a minor girl was allegedly poisoned by a youth at her home. The girl succumbed at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital (BBMCH) in Bolangir.
According to reports, the youth, who had been rebuffed in his love advances, attacked the girl when she was alone at home. He forcibly administered poison and fled in front of the girl’s mother Sushama Biswal. However, he left behind his mobile phone.
The girl was initially taken to the District Headquarters Hospital before being transferred to BBMCH, where she was pronounced dead. The police have launched an investigation after registering a case. Police also seized the mobile phone left behind by the accused.
The incident has sent shockwaves in the locality.
