Odisha CM Meets Senior Officials, Seeks Help In Expediting Development Proposals | Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi sought the cooperation of senior-level Odisha cadre officers working under various ministries of the Central government on Sunday to expedite proposals he presented during the NITI Aayog General Council Meeting.
The meeting with senior-level Odisha cadre officers was held at the Odisha Bhavan in New Delhi, in the presence of CM Mohan Charan Majhi, and his Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo and Pravati Parida.
CM Majhi said, “To achieve the goal of a developed Odisha, coordination and cooperation between the Central and state governments are necessary in all areas.”
He added, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special focus to Odisha under his ‘Purvodaya’ plan, creating vast opportunities for the state. With everyone’s cooperation, Odisha will surely achieve its ambitious goal.”
During the meeting, CM Majhi highlighted areas where Odisha needs support for development, including, port-based development, setting up industrial corridors and parks, funds and approvals for railway and airport infrastructure, support for natural disaster resilient infrastructure, hydro storage plant for green economy development, solar projects, establishment of bank branches, and ATMs in unbanked areas for financial inclusion, development of the mining industry, railway network expansion, foreign capital and cooperation for modern industries like semiconductors, and protection of forest resources.
CM Majhi emphasized that government efforts alone are insufficient and that support from all sections of society is required. He mentioned that the newly formed Odisha government presented its first budget on July 25, which was prepared with input from various sections of society, including economists, intellectuals, and over 12,000 online comments.
CM Majhi stated, “Our government is a ‘people’s government,’ and opinions from all sections of society are welcome to design the framework for a developed Odisha.”
He expressed hope and confidence that the cooperation of Odisha cadre officials in important Central government positions will help make their efforts a reality.
CM Majhi, stated that the role of various central government ministries, particularly those that approve projects such as the Ministries of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Industry, Railways, Civil Aviation, and any ministry with Odisha cadre officers, is crucial.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the door of our government is always open to your constructive feedback and full cooperation. He added that we will have many more discussions in the coming days and together, we will realize the vision of a developed Odisha.
