Rainfall warning: IMD issues red alert for Maharashtra, Gujrat, Goa – Check latest updates – India News

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest weather forecast on Tuesday issued heavy to very heavy rainfall alert with extremely heavy downpour at isolated places over Maharashtra, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya.

Additionally, heavy rainfall has been predicted at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, North Interior Karnataka. Notedly, rainfall activity is likely to increase over Indo-Gangetic plains during the next three days.

Yellow alert in Delhi!

IMD has issued a yellow alert for Delhi on July 22 and July 24 with cloudy sky, moderate rainfall and thunderstorms. Further to this, the minimum temperature to be tapped in Delhi during these days will be 27-degree- celsius while it can go maximum up to 35-degree-celsius. Post July 24, there will be more stability in the weather conditions as the IMD has predicted a green alert. 

Moreover, heavy rainfall is predicted at some places over coastal and south interior Karnataka during July 23 and July 26, north interior Karnataka on July 25 and July 26, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh. Strong surface winds of 30-40 kmph is very likely over south peninsular India during the next two days.

Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and isolated to scattered rainfall over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-BaltistanMuzaffarabad, West Rajasthan during next five days. In addition to this, very heavy rainfall is also likely over Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and East Rajasthan. However, the weather will be hot and humid over West Rajasthan during, above normal temperatures with high humidity are likely to prevail over Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi. 

When it comes to the Northeast part of India, moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning very likely over Northeast India during next five days while heavy rainfall very likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur.
