ED Cracks Down In Sundergarh Villages Over Money Laundering Through Online Gaming App | Odisha

Sundergarh: A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials launched a massive crackdown on alleged money laundering through an online gaming app, conducting raids at multiple locations in the Bonai area of Sundargarh district on Friday.

The raids, which began on Friday, targeted several houses in Bada Gogua and nearby villages, where residents were suspected of receiving crores of rupees from online gaming activities.

A joint team of around 40 ED officials from Kolkata and Bhubaneswar, accompanied by Central forces, carried out the operation to trace the alleged flow of huge amounts of money.

According to sources, the ED sleuths are meticulously examining various documents, including bank account details, of several individuals during the raids.

According to reports, the ED sleuths failed to detain anyone involved in such activities as individuals playing the games were absent in the village.

While ED officials declined to share details of the searches, citing that the operation is still underway.
