Soldier dead, Army Major among 4 injured in encounter in J&K

In the firefight, a terrorist from pakistan was also slain.
Terrorists and pakistan army commandos have been reported to infiltrate along the LoC as part of Border Action Teams (BATs). The second confrontation in three days in Kupwara began in the Kamkari sector of the district as a result of intelligence regarding potential terrorist activity in the area.
The battle was still going on when the dead and wounded soldiers were removed from the area of action, according to the Army.

According to reports, these terrorists, who have successfully infiltrated the area, are highly skilled and armed with some of the most advanced weaponry available, including night-vision equipped M4 Carbine Rifles manufactured in the United States.
