The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several states, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall today across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. These areas, already affected by severe flooding, are likely to experience further disruptions.

Cyclone ASNA Weakens, Relief for Affected Regions

Cyclone ASNA, which had intensified over the Arabian Sea, has now weakened, offering some relief to the affected regions. The IMD announced that the deep depression, a remnant of the cyclone, has further downgraded to a depression. It is currently centered about 200 km southeast of Ras Al Hadd in Oman and is expected to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next few hours.
