‘Reserved for party workers…’ : Woman alleges BJP activists harassed her on Vande Bharat train

A woman and her companion alleged harassment by BJP workers aboard the newly inaugurated Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express on Saturday. The woman claimed they were blocked while moving through a train coach to get food, with a man asserting the cabin was reserved for BJP members. Interestingly, her companion said they were invited to cover the train’s inauguration.

“We were stopped by a man who said the cabin was for BJP members only. When we returned, they started arguing and pushing us, questioning why we were moving around. We are also connected with the BJP, but such behavior harms the party’s image,” she told reporters on the train.

After a video of the incident went viral, Congress spokeswoman Shama Mohamed condemned the BJP activists’ actions. The Congress shared the video on X, captioning it, “This video is a witness to the conduct, character, and face of the BJP.”
