A woman and her companion travelling on the newly-inaugurated Meert City-Lucknow Vande Bharat train on Saturday alleged they were harassed and misbehaved with by BJP workers onboard the train. Recounting her ordeal, the woman said several BJP members misbehaved with them while moving through the train coach to get food.

While talking to reporters inside the train, the woman said that while going to get food, they were stopped by an elderly man who told them they were not allowed to pass through since it was “BJP cabin”. While returning, they were stopped again and an altercation ensued.

“We were passing through the cabin to get food when an uncle stopped us, saying it was BJP’s cabin and we could not go through it. When we were returning, they started arguing and pushed us, asking why we were frequently moving around the cabin. We are also connected with the BJP, but these kinds of people defame the party,” the woman said.

Her companion stated they were BJP supporters and influencers invited to cover the train’s inauguration. “BJP hired us as influencers. They consider the train as their personal property and were misbehaving with my sister,” he said.

Northern Railways Issue Statement

Regarding the allegations of misbehaviour against a woman and her companion on the Vande Bharat train from Meerut to Lucknow, Northern Railways has clarified that the passengers involved were asked to file a formal complaint and provide the alleged video evidence. However, they did not provide anything.

Additionally, after repeated requests from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the passengers deboarded from the train without informing anyone. Northern Railways is making efforts to contact the passengers again.
