Bank holidays in September 2024: Banks will remain closed in several cities for around 15 days in September 2024, depending upon the state specific festivals or significant observances.

New Delhi: The banks will remain closed on several occasions in many cities across the country in September 2024. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for the upcoming month. The banks will remain closed for 15 days next month, including all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.
Banks to remain closed in selected states on below-mentioned occasions
September 4: Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva
September 7: Ganesh Chaturthi/Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata/Vinayakar Chathurthi – Banks to observe holiday in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana and Goa.
September 14: Karma Puja/First Onam – Bank holiday in Kerala and Jharkhand.
September 16: Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e Milad (Birthday of Prophet Mohammad) (bara vafat) – Banks to remain closed in Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Mizoram, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Manipur, Jammu, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
September 17: Indrajatra/Id-e-Milad (Milad-Un-Nabi) – Bank holiday in Sikkim and Chhattisgarh.
September 18: Pang-Lhabsol – Banks closed in Assam
September 20: Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi – Banks closed in Jammu and Srinagar
September 21: Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day – Bank holiday in Kerala
September 23: Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji – Jammu and Srinanar
The banks will remain across the country on all Sundays (September 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29). The banks will observe holiday on Second and Fourth Saturday – September 14 and 28.
