Further, Tynsong informed that there are 6 bills passed by the KHADC which are still languishing at the department and the cabinet, 1 by the GHADC and 2 by the JHADC.

“The reason is due to errors in drafting, conflict with state laws or constitutional provisions,” he said.

The deputy CM also informed that an expert committee was constituted on September 26, 2023 headed by the secretary, DCA and includes officials from law department and officials from the ADCs.

The committee shall coordinate the processing of all Bills sent to the Governor of Meghalaya for his assent and sort issues that may arise therefrom expeditiously, he added.
