New Delhi: Days after Congress, National Conference (NC) and CPM announced a pre-poll alliance for the upcoming assembly elections Jammu and Kashmir, seat sharing remains a bone of contention.
No result after first round of meeting
A discussion on the seat sharing between Farooq Abdullah-led NC and Congress did not work out. In the meeting the grand old party was represented by Salman Khurshid and its state incharge Bharat Solanki.
To quickly resolve the matter, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has sent KC Venugopal, Pawan Khera along with Salman Khurshid and in-charge Bharat Solanki to Srinagar to finalise the deal.
The last date for nomination for the first phase is August 27.
Announcement of Congress-NC alliance
The Congress-NC alliance was announced after discussions between Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and NC president Farooq Abdullah.
