JK Chief Secretary Oversees Security, Logistics For Assembly Polls

SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo convened a high-level meeting with top officials from the Civil Administration and Police Department to assess the security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Director General of Police, Principal Secretary (Home), Special DGP, Special DG Crime, ADGPs, Divisional Commissioners from Kashmir and Jammu, Secretary of Transport, IGPs, Transport Commissioner, DIGs, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, and other concerned officers. Outstation officials participated via video conferencing.

Chief Secretary Dulloo emphasized the importance of ensuring a strong security presence in every district by mobilizing additional Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). He urged the identification of suitable locations to house the security personnel, ensuring basic amenities such as water, electricity, and sanitation are available.

The Chief Secretary also highlighted the need for enhanced security and accommodation for election candidates, advising the administration to meet the logistical demands of their campaigns while ensuring their safety.

Dulloo directed the Transport Department to develop a detailed plan in coordination with district authorities to provide adequate transportation for polling staff, security forces, and election materials. He urged the Divisional Commissioners to oversee preparations personally, ensuring that necessary repairs and arrangements are completed before polling begins.

Daily progress reports will be submitted to track these efforts, ensuring that the election process runs smoothly with robust participation from the public.
