10 killed, 27 injured in bus-truck collision in UP’s Bulandshahr
All the injured and deceased were residents of Aligarh and employed by a well-known biscuit company based in Ghaziabad. On Saturday night, they were heading to their village in Aligarh via the Badaun-Meerut State Highway to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. As their pickup approached Salempur in Bulandshahr, it collided with a bus coming from the opposite direction.

Bulandshahar: At least 10 people have been killed and 27 others were injured in a horrific road accident in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. The accident occurred when a Max pickup truck and a bus collided head-on. Among the injured, the condition of about half a dozen people is critical. The police responded to the incident and admitted all the injured to the hospital and sending the bodies of the deceased to the post-mortem house. The families of the deceased have been informed.
Passengers headed for Raksha Bandhan
All the injured and deceased are said to be residents of Aligarh and worked for a reputed biscuit company based in Ghaziabad. On Saturday night, they were travelling in the pickup to their village in Aligarh via the Badaun-Meerut State Highway to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. As soon as their vehicle neared Salempur in Bulandshahr, a bus coming from the opposite direction collided with the vehicle.
According to locals, the sound was so powerful that the entire pickup truck was pushed into the bus. The noise was so loud that many people who were sleeping in their homes woke up, rushed to the scene and informed the police. According to the police, the accident is quite severe and the death toll is likely to rise further.
Rescue and relief efforts underway
At present, all the injured have been taken out of the car and admitted to the hospital. The bodies are undergoing post-mortem examinations. The family members of the deceased have also arrived at the scene after receiving the news. DM Bulandshahr Chandra Prakash Singh who arrived at the scene after receiving the information, inquired about the condition of the injured and directed the CMO to ensure better treatment. Singh said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the deceased upon learning about the incident.
